What did you think of it? Never Tried It
Cinq Cents is a Belgian-style Tripel that pours a turbid, golden amber color with two fingers of thick, foamy head. The head is long lasting and sticks all over the glass. Aroma is more malt-forward than we recall with other Chimay beers, with both wheat and barley coming through. There’s also plenty of fruit on the nose. The taste is similar, with a bready, doughy maltiness up front, followed by candied fruit, clove, and a surprising amount of earthy and herbal bitterness. Definitely hoppier and more bitter than we expected for this style. Excellent carbonation, with a creamy yet dry mouthfeel. The finish is long and smooth, with some fruit and spice notes. All Chimay beers are excellent, and this is somewhat different from the rest, but absolutely enjoyable.
