Pours a dark brown color that is fairly transparent with medium carbonation, the consistency of Coca-Cola. There is a smoky chocolate aroma like the crust of a brownie with a touch of caramel. The flavor is that of dark toasted bread with cocoa, vanilla, and coffee. There is a slight smokiness here with some subtle caramel and sea salt in the aftertaste. When you read "Ben & Jerry's" your mind automatically expects a sweet, ice cream-like beer. However, that is not the case. The sweetness is reserved in this beer and is definitely more of a darker, earthy offering.

Just listened to the Red, White & Peach podcast. 2nd time listening...liking the podcast so far and will become a regular in the rotation on the drive to work. Keep up the good work. Not familiar with names & voices, but someone mentioned that if they had this beer without the bottle, they'd think it was a solid brown ale. I fully agree. Had this beer on halloween and thought the exact same thing. Not nearly enough brownie, chocolate, salt or caramel to live up to what's on the label, but in overall terms of a drinkable beer, it was that. Look forward to going through the archives and listening to you all on a consistent basis. Thanks, Rich

Hey Rich. Glad you enjoyed this one. We're attempting to get as many semi-Thanksgiving-related beers for next week's episode. Then the following week will be a fun one with a lot of rare Dogfish Head. Thanks for listening! When you come across any great beers, let us know.

Tonight I made a beer float using this and Tillamook vanilla ice cream. Not too shabby. Better than the beer by itself!
