Not Your Father's Root Beer 5.9% - Small Town Brewery - Beer of the Day.

Amazingly, this looks and tastes just like root beer. On the pour, it's a dark brown color with absolutely no head. Just like a soda, you'll find a fizzy, bubbly carbonation right off the bat. And there is almost no alcohol presence, yet this comes in at 5.9% ABV. As far as beer goes, this is definitely different. There are some spices on the initial taste, but sweetness on the finish, just like a classic root beer. If you like root beer, you'll really like this.

The start IS exactly like root beer, rich, smooth and flavorful. The finish is cough syrup. Maybe a matter personal preference, but I could not finish it. Applaud the effort and would say try it for yourself if it sounds interesting.

Yes! Tastes just like root beer. Great with ice cream. And comes in cans. Delicious !

I agree with hopper it's very syrupy and more like really flat root beer.

Pretty uncanny resemblance to root beer but I'll echo the other sentiments. I couldn't finish one bottle and it's very syrupy and sickly sweet.
