Birra Etrusca
Rating:
What did you think of it? Never Tried ItPart of Dogfish Head's Ancient Ale series, this is an attempt to create a beer similar to one that might have been brewed during the time of the Etruscans. It pours a cloudy, dark copper color with very little head or carbonation. The nose is a combination of ground peppercorn and honey with some darker fruits rounding it out. Flavors consist of a honey maltiness. It has an herbal, almost medicinal quality with a ton of pepper spiciness in the aftertaste. As you would expect, this beer's unique qualities set it apart from almost every other beer from this millennium.
